Heritage Suitcase Project
You will be choosing a person from your family that immigrated to Canada and interviewing them to get more information. With this information you will complete the following assignments to pack into your suitcase. The final project will be made as a presentation - technology is an option. You must unpack your suitcase in front of the class and while telling the story of the person you researched.

- Physical Suitcase - you must either borrow, create or use another meaningful item to pack all your ‘artifacts’ into for your final presentation.
- Interview - (must be included in your ‘rough work’ duotang’) Interview assignment sheet is attached. You may choose to videotape or audio record this interview to use in your final presentation.
- Diary - rewritten into a minimum of 10 diary entries. Your final diary entries must highlight 10 key events in his/her life and be presented in an interesting way. You will be asked to read aloud at least 2 entries as part of your final presentation.
- Picture Frame Assignment - assignment sheet is attached.
- BioPoem - assignment sheet is attached.
- Flag - You will create a flag of your relative's home country.
- Passport - research what passports looked like when your relative traveled and recreate a passport from that time period.
- Special Object - Recreate an object that was important to your relative, recreate this object or create an online presentation using photographs.
- Family Tree - assignment sheet is attached.
- Journey Map - Create a map that chronicles the journey your relative took. Mark important locations such as the start and finish towns. How did they travel?
